In the name of Linux, Macintosh and Windows…

As I’m getting ready to have Mugen shipped off to laptop hospital, I wanted to share this piece of philosophical wisdom. It is direct quote from an email from my thesis mentor Kristian Simolin (text translated and slightly edited for readability by yours truly):

“My friend Tere Vadén, who is a philosophist and wrote his dissertation around cognitive sciences, once said that, for the modern man, computers have replaced gods as everyday elements which either work or do not work. No one really understands how they work but, regardless, everyone is deeply dependent on them. The part of a human being remains to pray that they work as well as possible.”
