Today, the 17th of September, marks the one year anniversary of my father’s death. The planet has revolved a full circle around the sun since his dying day. The loss and sorrow keep their own calendar, so the date itself is somewhat arbitrary on this personal scale, but, moreso perhaps than his birthday, I feel it’s a day for special rememberance. I suppose that birth and death are really the most significant dates of one’s life, and the deathday is much more mysterious of those two. After all, we can pretty much predict the overall course of events starting from a birthday…
